I love Christmas traditions, decorations, and celebrations. Although I don’t have any particularly strong connections to Chicago, I picked up this book because of its lovely photographs of Christmas past. There is a wide variety of images from department store and home decorations, to families enjoying their holiday traditions, to the evolution of Santa Claus in the first half of the 20th century. If you enjoy Christmas, this photo book of its presence in a major US city, this book will not disappoint. It costs around $30 new.
